I am currently a sophomore at UTEP. I am 19 years old, my major is Art education. My interest in people abusing food stamps came from seeing many of my friends getting pregnant in high school and them not caring about the financial side of the issue. They would have the first baby and after a few months they were pregnant again. I always wondered where they got the money to feed their children, so i asked one of them and she said she got food stamps, medicaide, and wic. I was angry at the fact that i had a job and my tax dollars were going to her who didn't have a job, lived with her mom and continued to have children. Im not angry at her having children, Children are a blessing, I got angry that she continued to have children and not look for a job and still continued to use entitlement programs.
So this semester for my english 1312 I decided to write about people abusing entitlement programs, I learned a lot about the issue, from people thinking that food stamps stimulate the economy to people wanting recipients to take drug test and also fraud.
